Consumption has a somewhat negative reputation when it comes to well-being. Research frequently focuses on over-consumption and its impact on individual, social and ecological well-being. Alexandra Ganglmair-Wooliscroft and Ben Wooliscroft investigate facets of well-being and their links to meso- and macro-level aspects of consumption – particularly sustainable consumption and mobility. We believe it is necessary to better understand the complexity of these relationships to achieve sustainable levels of consumption, while maintaining or improving peoples’ well-being.
