Community Indicators Consortium (CIC)- ISQOLS
International Society for Quality of Life Studies (ISQOLS) Announces Acquisition of Community Indicators Consortium (CIC)
The International Society for Quality of Life Studies (ISQOLS) is pleased to announce the formal acquisition of the Community Indicators Consortium (CIC), a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing community well-being through measurable, equitable, and sustainable improvements. This strategic acquisition is set to strengthen ISQOLS’s mission and broaden its network, ultimately benefiting communities and practitioners worldwide.
Founded in 2005 in Vermont, the CIC has established itself as the global hub for community indicators projects, providing invaluable resources, tools, and support to enhance community life. Through membership programs, training, webinars, conferences, and a substantial database of community indicator projects, CIC has fostered a vibrant community of practitioners dedicated to improving quality of life.
“CIC’s mission aligns seamlessly with ISQOLS’s goals,” stated Jill Johnson, Executive Director of ISQOLS. “By bringing CIC into our organization, we can better support community indicators professionals and provide them with a unified platform for education, networking, and collaboration.”
The collaboration between ISQOLS and CIC has a long-standing history, illustrated by the existing joint-membership options and the ISQOLS Community Indicators Certification program. Many ISQOLS members are already engaged in community indicators work, and this acquisition will enhance opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development.
With the acquisition, ISQOLS anticipates numerous benefits, including:
- Broadened Network: Expanding ISQOLS’s reach and attracting new members interested in community indicators.
- Dedicated Space for Practitioners: Creating a vibrant platform for quality of life (QOL) practitioners to connect, learn, and collaborate.
- Enhanced Understanding: Providing ISQOLS’s international members with deeper insights into community indicators practices.
- Wider Appeal for Certification Programs: Expanding the audience for the ISQOLS Community Indicators Certification program.
- Increased Membership in the Americas and Australia: Tapping into CIC’s established network to enhance ISQOLS’s presence in these regions.
ISQOLS looks forward to welcoming CIC members into the fold and to fostering a rich, collaborative environment that emphasizes the importance of quality of life studies in community development.
