1. First, list your current professional title. Second, describe your background, experience, and research as it relates to Quality-of-life studies.
I have a PhD in Political Sciences, and I am a social worker.
I have been working as professor and researcher since the last 35 years, first dedicated to social work, children, communities, inequalities, qualitative research methods and public policies, and since the 2000, to the quality-of-life field.
Simultaneously and for 26 years I worked in the professional field as social worker dedicated to children maltreatment and living in poverty and vulnerability conditions.
Currently I direct the Institute in Social Studies-UNICOM at Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora in which I created in 2004 the Research Program in Quality of Life. https://www.sociales.unlz.edu.ar/index.php/unicom/
where I have created an online course Quality of Life and Happiness: constructing better societies, which is an elective course than can be taken for the students of all the programs of the university. Also, I teach the course Research in Quality of Life, for the Phd Program in Psychology.
I am member of the Olympic National Committee (Argentina) being part of the Sports and Active Society Commission.
2. What initially attracted you to the field of quality-of-life studies?
The work of Richard Estes in social indicators who is one of the founders of ISQOLS and the work of Ferran Casas in the field of children quality of life.
3. What are some areas of quality-of-life studies you feel are lacking attention? Any advice for future QoL researchers?
I think we need to develop more research in the field of public policies, IA, environment and climate change, new technologies.
4. How long have you been a member of ISQOLS? Why did you choose to be a member of ISQOLS? How has your involvement in ISQOLS impacted your career/research/advancement in your knowledge of QoL studies?
I joined ISQOLS at the 2000 in the Conference in Girona, Spain, this is to said I have been a member for 24 years till now and I will continue.
Since this moment I had different positions in our association: Board member, VP of External Affairs, VP of Membership, VP of Publications (currently).
I choose to be a member of ISQOLS because I agree with the framework and the theory and because it is an association that promotes good relations, collaboration and solidarity between its members. This is to say the association promotes its members quality of life.
