This webinar will begin with the review of the concept of public policy, to introduce the analysis of the transmission of research results in the context of public policies – taking into account the different characteristics of knowledge and the way in which researchers and policy-makers has been interacting in this field. Then it will identify and comment on the handicaps which have historically turned up in the development of this process and the possibilities of strengthening it to achieve the improvement of people`s quality of life.

Graciela H. Tonon is Dr. Political Science, Magister in Political Sciences and Social-worker. She has Postdoctoral studies (CIMESS-Universitá degli studi di Firenze, Italy). She is Professor of Quality of Life (grade and post-grade courses) at Universidad de Palermo (Argentina) and of Community Social Work at Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora. She received in 2016 the Distinguish Service Award for Substantial Contributing to a Better Understanding of Quality of Life Studies from ISQOLS. She is the Director of the Master Program in Social Sciences and Research Center in Social Sciences (CICS-UP) at Universidad de Palermo (Argentina) and the Director of the Social Studies Institute UNI-COM of Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora which includes the Quality of Life Research Program. Graciela is the Editor of the International Handbooks of Quality of Life Series, ISQOLS-Springer and the Editor Book Review Section of the Applied Research in Quality of Life, ISQOLS-Springer.She is the Director of the Journal de Ciencias Sociales of Universidad de Palermo (Argentina). ISQOLS Vice-president of Publications (2019-2020) and Secretary of the Human Development and Capability Association (2016-2022).
